We examine with applied exercises how an athlete can stimulate and consolidate skills, talent, characteristics and requests. To do this we will use training sessions with which film and theater actors are prepared to perform at their best in the roles assigned to them, exactly as happens to an athlete in their own context.
Parallels between the athlete who expresses himself on the pitch and the actor who expresses himself on a stage and the main objectives that we intend to pursue with this training:
Management/reduction/elimination of fear of judgment - recognition of the correct and necessary importance of a set of rules - management of work spaces - comfort of working in all 27 emotions - immediacy in counteracting the unexpected - stimulation of listening ability - solicitation of the spirit of initiative - raising awareness of collaboration - maximum granting of one's trust towards colleagues/athletes - respect for commands coming from colleagues/athletes - discovery or rediscovery of one's own leadership skills - awareness of one's own role and value - total conquest of one's self-esteem - voice projection and breath management - sense of responsibility and autonomy - freedom in making choices, accepting any failures.
Space management: the actor must know how to occupy a stage in relation to the audience, scenography and actors with whom he shares the performance; in the same way, a footballer must know how to occupy the field in relation to his teammates, the ball, the goal and the opponents.
An actor on stage must feel able to support the presence of the audience he is in front of, projecting his voice in a clearly audible way from the first to the last row of the theater. With themed exercises, this principle is translated into the sports field to eliminate, or at least reduce to a minimum, performance anxiety or the fear of judgment that is often felt towards more experienced or gifted spectators or teammates, at in the face of which, one may be afraid to relate.
An actor must convey to the public the emotions he experiences within the story he tells, just as a competing athlete finds himself managing numerous different moods, which affect his performance, simply because he does not have the tools to make them strengths and not limiting elements. An exclusion, a missed call-up, a period of injury, a decisive mistake for the defeat of one's team, a decline in form, a relegation, an argument with teammates or staff members, are elements that often cause a deterioration in performance and state of the athlete's soul a prolonged breakdown as there is a lack of help, knowledge of the subject, time.
SPORTEATRO dedicates attention and training to all the dynamics that the technical staff cannot dedicate to.
